Today to celebrate the new year, I’m going to share a tutorial for a monthly diary. I’m really bad at keeping weekly diaries but I like having a layout of the month, like on the Frankie Calendars. This would be a great diary also for a blog schedule and planner as you will be able to see a layout of the month and your posts that you want to do.
For this craft you will need, this calendar template, a plain book and decorating supplies. I’m going to use washi tape, letter stamps + ink and a pencil eraser for stamping
Start by decorating the cover. I really liked Kikki.K’s diary this year so I thought using a pencil eraser I could create hand stamped dots with 2014 written in the middle. But decorate it how you want your diary to look.
Use the supplied calendar templates and cut out each month (cut off the month title, it was just a reference) and stick in on the left hand side of each 2 page spread
Use stamps or your favourite pen to add the month titles and use the right hand side as a notes page. Perfect for listing and planning blog posts or reminders.
Decorate each month creatively with washi tape to mark days and stickers to remind you of birthdays etc. Next week I’ve got a printable surprise for you which might involve calendar stickers….you never know ;)
And ‘Volia’ you have your ready to go blog planner. Now you shall never forget to post on your blog or a loved one’s birthday. Have fun being creative. I would love to see your own, if you do - I’ll add them to this post so others can be inspired so please email me to me or hashtag them on instagram with #vanillacraftblog2014. Have fun!!! x Harri
P.S. This year, I really want to improve my blog, it’s why I changed to Vanilla Craft Blog, but then I got swept up in end of year stuff and didn’t have time. I got a custom domain to celebrate the new year and so now I really hope to make better and more original posts, even if it means not posting as much so I really hope you enjoyed this post
This is like what I have for this! (Although mine isn't half as pretty or in a book) but I really enjoy monthly planners because it's so easy to see how things fall in relation to others. Hope it keeps you organised!
