I'm always journalling ever since Chloe wrote her amazing tips on notebook keeping. I love to draw up ideas and plan them out visually because I am such a visual person when it comes to planning! I spend so much of my time just drawing ideas and making them come to life even more than in my head. I love picturing the colours and looking at fabrics - possibly sticking little bits of it into the journal and creating little mini-mes of such an exciting project for me.
Blog Post Book
If you are a long time reader, you might remember my post on my blog post planning notebook. I use this book when I have a great idea and need to scribble it down quickly. I throw the sticky note into the right section and when I have no ideas, I go a see my trusty book of sticky notes. Obviously they don't always work out quite right so the note goes into the trash - but it might spark a new idea. All ideas should be kept even if you have doubts on it.
Inspiration Wall (mood boards)
On a wall in my room, I have an inspiration wall. I guess this is kind of a mood board for no reason, just lots of things that I love. The colour patterns always give me an idea for a colour story for my latest project which I might possibly have drawn out in my journal. Sometimes the objects of my wall, don't go together, but they never look bad because a bit of colour or shape make it all work and I always feel happy looking at the board.
Pinterest can be self-explanatory but I LOVE it. I generally have lots of boards on public with crafts, home ideas, food ideas (oh so mouthwatering), as well as boards of summer pics, style, plants?, patterns and just a board called 'I Love'. You can follow me here for lots of inspiration for your organisation.
Other Ideas + Tips
- Type out notes and save on computer if you work on your computer a lot
- Print out inspiring images and stick them anywhere to look at them all the time
- Sticky Notes explain themselves
I hope you enjoy these four little tips on organising inspiration. I know that I spend way too much time thinking about inspiration and organising it in a million different ways.
If you have any other ideas or ways that you organise inspiration, please leave a comment so I and others can see!
